我们在学习英语短语时，常常会遇到这样一些短语，这些短语用冠词和不用冠词，意义差别很大，同学们一定要注意区别哦。
1.【at table 在吃饭】My family are at table.
我的家人在吃饭。
【at the table 在桌子旁】My little sister is sitting at the table crying.
我的小妹妹正坐在桌子旁哭呢。
2.【at school上学】All my kids are still at school.
我的孩子都还在上学。
I was at school with Kate.
我和凯特过去在同一个学校上学。
【at the school在学校】He is giving Chinese lessons to the children at the school.
他正在学校里给孩子们上汉语课。
3. 【by day 白天】My father goes to work on the farm by day.我爸爸白天去农场干活。
I see better at night than by day.我在晚上看得比白天清楚。
Cats sleep by day and catch mice at night.猫在白天睡觉，晚上捉老鼠。
【by the day 按日计算】The boss pays the workers by the day.这个老板按日计算给工人们付工资。
We have learned 900 words by the day.按日计算，我们已经学习了900个单词了。
4.【in hospital/prison 住院/坐牢】My grandma was ill in hospital.
我奶奶生病住院了。
The young man has been in prison for several drug offences.
这个年轻人因多次吸毒坐牢了。
【in the hospital/prison 在医院/在监狱里】My mother works in the hospital.
我妈妈在医院里上班。
His duty is to look after the prisoners in the prison.
他的职责是看管在监狱里的犯人。
5.【in charge of 掌管】His Uncle is in charge of the company.
他叔叔掌管着这家大公司。
【in the charge of 在.....掌管之中】【无冠词（a冠词）】While our manager is away on business, our company will be in the charge of Mr. Zhang.
经理外出出差的时候，我们公司的业务将由张先生负责。
6.【in future 从今以后】The country needs new leadership if she is to play a role in future development.这个国家要在未来的发展中发挥作用的话，她就需要新的领导班子。
I must study hard and get good grades in future.今后我一定要努力学习取得好成绩。
【in the future 将来】I hope I can go to the moon one day in the future.
我希望将来有一天我能去月球。
7.【in place of 取代、代替、而不是】You can use milk in place of cream in this recipe.
这道食谱你可以用牛奶代替奶油。
Tom is watching TV in place of doing his homework.
汤姆在看电视而不是做作业。
【in the place of 在.....的位置上】Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men.
不要在王面前妄自尊大。不要在大人的位上站立。

8.【in front of 在....（建筑物外部）的前面】There is a big stone in front of the house.房子的前面是一块大石头。

9.【in office 执政】How long has Trump been in office in the United States ?

【in the office 在办公室内】Our head teacher is working in the office.我们的班主任正在办公室办公。
10.【out of question 毫无疑问】That is out of question that this is a hoax.毫无疑问，那是一个骗局。
【out of the question 不可能】It's out of the question for her to change her mind.要她改变主意是不可能的。
11.【take place 发生】Great changes have taken place in our hometown in the past few years.
在过去的几年里，我们家乡发生了巨大的变化。
Great changes have taken place in China since the reform and opening up.

12.【have a word with 与 ......交谈】My mother is having a cordial word with the Chinese teacher.

13.【a number of =many大量的，很多】On the National Day every year, a number of foreign tourists visit the West Lake in Hangzhou.

【the number of ....的数量】The number of boys in our class is 30.

14.【go to bed 上床睡觉】It's nine o'clock in the evening now ， it's time to go to bed.
