*生意场上、朋友之间均可用该句来决定约会的日子和时间。

convenient “方便的，合适的”。

When is it convenient for you? (你什么时候方便?)

I"m free on Friday. (星期五。)

When is good for you?

◎什么时候? About what time?

◎什么时候都行。Whenever.

Jack, what time do you want to go bowling?

(杰克，你想什么时候去打保龄球呀?)

Whenever. I"m free all day.

(什么时候都可以。我一整天都有空。)

Whenever you are free. (什么时间都行，只要你有时间。)

Any day is okay. (哪天都行。)

Any day of the week is fine. (星期几都行。)

Anytime is fine.

◎等你有时间的时候吧。When you have time.

◎我今天有空。I"m free today.

*free 有“自由的，免费的”等多种意思，在这句里是“有空”的意思。

I have a lot of free time today. (今天我很空闲。)

I have nothing to do today. (我今天没什么要做的。)

◎明天我会很忙。I"ll be busy tomorrow.

How about tomorrow? (明天怎么样?)

Sorry, I"ll be busy tomorrow. (对不起，明天我会很忙。)

◎10号怎么样? How about the tenth?

*要说“～号”的时候，

像the tenth一样要在数字的后面加上-th。

◎你什么时候有空? When are you free?

* 比较随便的说法。

When should we go? (咱们什么时候走?)

When are you free? (你什么时候有空?)

When are you free? (你什么时候有空?)

Friday after 3:00. (星期五3点以后有空。)

When are you available? * 一般的用法。

◎那天我不行。 That"s a bad day for me.

◎那天我可以。That day is fine.

◎我什么时候去合适? When can I come over?

*come over“顺便拜访”。

When can I visit? (我什么时候能去拜访您?)

When can I stop by? (我什么时候可以去你那儿坐坐?)

When can I drop by? (我什么时候可以去你那儿坐坐?)

◎你定时间吧。You decide when.

I"ll leave it up to you. (全交给你了。)

It"s your decision. (你定吧。)

◎你定地点吧。You decide where.

Wherever you want is okay. (哪儿都行，只要你觉得好。)

◎7点行吗?

◎你几点能来? When can you come over?

What time can you make it?

◎太早了吗? Is it too early?

*这句用于确认约会的日期和时间。

Okay, see you then. (行，到时候见。)

Let"s meet tomorrow at 7∶30. (明天7∶30见吧。)

◎回头见。 See you then.

交费日期截止到30号。It"s due on the thirtieth.

*due“必须支付”、“支付期限到了”。

日常生活中常使用带有due的表达方式。

◎能帮我换一下零钱吗?

Could you give me change?

* change 也有“零钱”的意思。

= Can you change this? 能帮我换一下零钱吗?

= Could I have change? 能帮我换一下零钱吗?

◎能帮我换开100日元吗?

Do you have change for one hundred yen?

*change 除了“交换，兑换”的意思之外，还有“零钱，破开的钱”。

Sure. (可以。)

= Can you change this? (能帮我破一下吗?)

= Can you break a one-hundred-yen bill? (能帮我破开100日元吗?)

= Can you break a hundred? 能帮我破100日元吗？

= Here"s one hundred yen. Could I have change? (这是100日元，能帮我破开吗?)

= I"d like to change a hundred-yen note. (我想破开100日元。)

◎我要存5000日元(在我的账户上。)

I need to deposit five thousand yen (in my savings account).

*deposit“在银行存钱”。 savings account “账户，户头”。

= I need to put ￥5,000 into the bank. 我需要存5000日元。

◎我要取5000日元(从我的账户上)。

I need to withdraw ￥5,000 (from my savings account).

*withdraw“(从存款中)取出，拿出”。

= I need to take out ￥5,000 from the bank. 我要取5000日元。

◎我是自己掏的腰包。

I paid out of my own pocket.

直译是“从自己的口袋里拿出钱来支付。”是“自己掏腰包”的固定说法。

◎我没带现金。I"m out of cash.

◎我现在没有多少现金。

I don"t have much money on me now.

= May I borrow some money? (能借点儿钱吗?)

= I didn"t bring very much money with me. (我身上没带多少现金。)

= I"m a little short of money now. (我现在钱不够用。)

◎身无分文。I"m broke.

= I have no money. 我没钱了。

= I"m out of money. 我钱花完了。

= I"m flat broke. * 强调的说法。

May I borrow ten dollars? (能借给我10美元吗?)

Sorry, I"m broke. (对不起，我现在身无分文。)

◎现在我有很多现金。I have a lot of money on me now.

= I brought a lot of money with me. (我带来了许多现金。)

= I"m rich now. (我现在很有钱。)

= I"m rolling in it. 我有钱。

= I have lots of cash on me. 我有很多现金。

◎我可没有时间闲呆着。

I can"t afford to be lazy.

= I can"t afford to be idle. 我没有时间闲聊。

= I don"t have time to be lazy. 我没有时间去懒惰。

*afford“有钱，有时间，有力量”、“有富余”。

◎多浪费呀!What a waste! *waste “浪费，荒废，徒劳”。

= How wasteful! 多浪费呀！

◎他因为还不上债而躲了起来。

He didn"t pay the debt and disappeared.

*debt“借债，负债，有欠债的状态”。

= He skipped town without paying his debt.他因为还不上债而躲了起来。
