算了，我们来学习festival吧

1 make merry =drink and eat 尽情欢乐（一般比较大声音，很开心地吃喝）

如：People always make merry on New Year"s Eve. 人们通常在除夕尽情欢乐。

2 customary 习惯的，通常的

如：It"s customary to offer a drink or a snack to guests. 通常用饮料或者小吃招待客人。

3 slap-up meal =big meal 大餐，讲究的一餐，高档的一餐

如：We enjoyed a customary slap-up meal on that day. 我们按照惯例吃了一顿大餐。

4 family get-together 家庭聚会

如：Every single one was chatting and smiling in the family get-together. 每一个人当时在家庭聚会中都在畅谈和微笑。

5 folklore 民间传说，风俗

如：I"m interested in anything related to folkore. 我对任何和民间传说有关的东西特别感兴趣。

6 in high spirits =happy 开心

如：We were in high spirits just before midnight. 我们在半夜12点之前很开心。

7 push the boat out=have a party

如：We normally push the boat out during spring festival celebrations. 我们通常在春节期间开个party。
