母语对英语学习有一定的积极作用 ， 完全避开母语是不实际的也没有必要的 ， 英语学习者可以适当利用母语 ， 有意识地对比分析母语和目的语之间的语言形式和文化背景 ， 但也要避免滥用母语 。
